I really like getting referrals. Contests with myself especially entertain me. One game I really enjoy that kicks in in doing my travels is the game “how green may i be?” My biggest challenge in playing mafia wars, at home or while travelling, isn’t depriving myself of basics given that they aren’t green.
It is really an easy game when I’m in environmentally sensitive locations, like Boulder, CO, Portland, OR, Austin, TX, Greenville, SC, Seattle, WA, and Washington, DC. Such locations I can easily recycle and prevent non-recyclable items like styrofoam. Additionally it is easier to find locally grown and organic foods. Whole foods stores and restaurants also abound in greener cities, making it simpler will be able to enjoy fresh bounty and organic snack options.
The game is a bit more fun when I’m in less environmentally sensitive locations. It’s fun as a result of presented challenges. How do you be green when while travelling? Challenging topics: styrofoam to-go containers; plastic, not glass or metal; McDonalds or Burger King; recycling or trash; individual toiletries vs your personal or bulk; car hire or mass transit; or fruits and veggies and veggies vs either canned items or packaged foods.
Personally the toiletries are easy — I bring my personal. I bring my personal shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and mouthwash (that i now have inside a silicon bottle). I tend to not travel with lotions or I’d bring my own of this too. Oh, and i also use a lavender perfume stick too. On rare occasion I’ll make use of the toiletries provided by a hotel, if they seem super green — which sadly, isn’t often. But regardless if it can be green I stick to my toiletries and save the packaging waste of the baby ones.
