Dozens of colorful hot air balloons will fill the skies come early july over several cities in the Southeast. These balloon festivals draw 1000s of attendees and still provide fun for the whole family. The adventurous among them will like breathtaking thoughts about balloon flights. Perhaps the tethered rides offer an exciting experience. Below are a few in the Southeast’s hottest summer balloon festivals.

Freedom Aloft Weekend comes about Memorial Weekend, May 27-30, at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, South Carolina. This popular festival is a tradition within the Sc Upstate for 29 years. Seventy to eighty colorful balloons be involved each year. Attendees can book a balloon flight, require a tethered ride, watch canine disc championships, and enjoy family friendly activities each day from the festival. Various concerts happen in the weekend with the Heritage Park Amphitheater and so are included in the admission price. Advance ticket cost is $7.50 for adults, and children under 12 have the freedom having a paid adult. Ticket prices during the event are $10 daily on May 27-29, and free admission on May 30. Parking is $5 every day. Festival hours are 3pm-11pm on Friday, noon-11pm on End of the week, and noon-9pm on Monday.

The 7th Annual Gulf Coast Balloon Festival is scheduled for Father’s Day weekend, June 17-19 in Foley, Alabama. This festival near Alabama’s gulf beaches usually features 45 balloonists and draws 80,000 visitors. The venue is the Foley Sportspark and admission is free of charge. A free taxi is available from three parking locations. The festival features competition flights, children’s entertainment, celebrated Frisbee dogs, musical entertainment, and an crafts and arts show. Hours are 8am-10pm on Friday, 6am-10pm on Saturday, and 6am-10:30am on Sunday. The festival is an excellent method to entertain Dad on his special weekend.
